Our first time at the Cherry Blossoms

Ever heard of ‘em?!

Surprisingly enough, one of the few things I knew about DC before moving here was that Cherry Blossom Szn is the time to be alive!! From pretty much the first day at my job, my coworkers gave me the run down, advising me to check out the cherry blossoms at sunrise before all the tourists flood in.

Apparently this year was one of the earliest peak blossom times in history, which I think is actually a good thing because we were able to go see them before being on lock-down for this quarantine.

We decided to wake up at 6:30 AM on Saturday (I know, so brave) and go to Tidal Basin while it was still empty, or at least a little emptier, and safer for us to be out and about. Don’t worry we kept our distance from others and didn’t touch anything. We just watched the sunrise coming over the Washington Monument and took in the smell of these flowers!

Hopefully one day you will get the chance to see them for yourself!
