Quarantine Foods To Try!

Yeah so this is probably the weirdest time ever. I feel so confused and lost, but yet hopeful about the situation. I don’t have much to say about the quarantine other than I hope this brings people closer to one another as we spend more time with loved ones. It’s definitely helped me slow down and reach out to friends that I haven’t connected with in far too long.

In effort to make something light-hearted, I wanted to share what we have been snackin’ on throughout the past week. I NEED to note that we are no expert chefs, and when I can, I usually choose to snack all day rather than having 3 meals. Gimme some brie cheese & apples. Oh ma gerd.

Our Fav Snacks

  • Dried Mangoes

    • If you have never tried these, you NEED to! I feel like it’s candy, without eating candy.

  • Chocolate hummus

    • I LOVE this as a treat! Is it healthy?! I can neither confirm nor deny, but it is tasty and probably better than raw cookie dough so I’ll consider it nutritious ;)

  • Chocolate Teddy Grahams

    • I am 12, I know.

  • Celsius water

    • If you are a caffeine feen looking for a new fix, I HIGHLY recommend these! I’ve stocked up on Celsius waters as a little treat on days when my energy is lacking and/or before a workout. It’s also a break from coffee. Watermelon and grape are my fav’s!

  • Oatmilk Creamer

  • Barefoot Sangria

    • Peter doesn’t usually like sangria and oh baby are we diggin’ this.

  • Cadbury Eggs (duh)

  • Airhead Xtremes (this was Peter’s suggestion lolol)

  • Silk Almondmilk yogurt w/granola

  • Sargento Balance Breaks (Cheese snacks for a lil’ mid-day pick me up!)

easy MEAL IDEAS & recipes!

  • Frozen meatballs in the crockpot

    • I know sounds like a game-day meal for the Super Bowl, but I’m easy to please and can eat this for dinner. It makes for great leftovers!

  • Stromboli

    • I made do with what I already had in the fridge and loosely based my recipe off of this one, but basically all you need is store-bought pizza dough, sauce and toppings! Easy peasy!

Vegan Pad Thai

Vegan Pad Thai

  • Green Beans

    • Super easy. Take some frozen green beans and warm them up on the stovetop. Add some minced garlic (the more the better), and equal parts soy sauce and honey. Let that puppy simmer to get nice and charred looking. I make this at least once a week as a side for most dishes!

  • Chicken Parm

    • This recipe was incredibly easy and a great way to use up leftovers! I of course don’t eat red sauce, but I did just eat plain noodles and chicken haha :)

  • Skarpia Toast

    • My grandma’s famous bread that has me salivating. I made it last week & we may or may not have finished the two loaves in 2 days. Oops!

  • Crockpot Pulled Chicken (Sandwiches)

    • Have you noticed I love my crockpot?! Very tasty, very good leftovers that can be eaten on crackers, bread or salads!

  • Gin Penne Pasta

    • All credit to my sister on this one! We were originally going for some penne vodka, but when we realized we had no vodka, we decided to pivot and use up the gin in our cabinet!

Hopefully this gave ya some sort of inspiration for the coming weeks! I would LOVE to know your recipes & fav snacks! I am clearly a girl with very simple taste, so the easier the better!

Stay safe guys! Love y’all!
