Our Apartment Tour: South Carolina
Over the past year our apartment has completely transformed from a man-cave to a boho-yet-sporty space. So random but it’s all about merging our two styles together right?!
I was just thinking about the previous places I’ve lived and how I hardly ever take photos of the spaces. It made me kind of sad realizing how many little details slip through my memory.
I wanted to share this with you today mostly just to capture the elements of this space that make it feel like home so that I can remember how our first apartment looked. I am eternally grateful that Peter has allowed me to add my creative touches to the apartment because it makes me love sharing this space so so much!
Welcome to our apartment!
Right when you walk in you will see our American flag hanging on the hallway wall. Here’s the thing. This flag was a real debate in our household!! Before moving in I begged Peter to remove the flag from the dining room, but it held a lot of sentimental value for him. He got it in college with his buddies and it became a symbol of their educational (and party) days lol.
A few weeks after moving in, we finally agreed to do a trial run with my gallery wall design and… the flag has been in the entryway ever since!!
Pete has been collecting scarves from all the places he’s traveled - Spain, Italy, France, etc. - and created this display on the wall to show them off! It’s a little nod to our trips around the world!
I am in love with our gallery wall. Believe it or not, this wall actually had a massive American flag across it before I moved in! I quickly took some of my favorite art & even framed some of my own calligraphy to make it feel more artist and interesting.
Bedroom boho vibes
The bedroom was really a blank slate when I moved in, so I took the opportunity to turn it into a boho paradise. I really have a thing for photos if you can’t tell haha, so the first thing I did was add the frames of my photography in a neutral wood frame above the bed.
Artsy decor
The majority of my decor was from TJ Maxx (my fav!!) or local boutiques. My favorite elements in our house have to be the flower mirror above our couch, the cactus (which is the only plant that has survived all year) and the little blue elephant - which has been moved around throughout the year.
Until next time…
This cozy little apartment has been so fun to transform! Combining lots of furniture from MN with some new pieces, we have made our apartment feel so homey.
Let me know if you have any cool decor that I should check out, I am always looking to decorate ;)
Cheers!
