Blend the oats!

Blend the oats!

Everyone loves a soft and doughy chocolate chip cookie, but what can you do to make yours special?!

This is one of those recipes that I can always bring to a party and know it’ll be a crowd-pleaser. The key difference between these and every other cookie you’ve tried is the cinnamon & oats. Trust me, do not sleep on the oats. It makes a world of difference!

Stuff you need:

  • 1/2 cup rolled oats (grind in a food processor or blender)

  • 2 1/4 cups flour

  • 1 1/2 tsp baking soda

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon

  • 2 sticks of soft butter

  • 3/4 cups brown sugar

  • 3/4 cups sugar

  • 2 tsp vanilla

  • 1/2 tsp lemon juice

  • 2 eggs

  • Chocolate chips (I throw in as many as I want - hehe #norules)

Let’s Get bakin’:

  • Add all the dry ingredients in a bowl & mix together: oats, flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon

  • Mix all the wet ingredients together: butter, sugars, vanilla, lemon juice and eggs

  • Mix dry ingredients into the wet & add chocolate chips

  • Put the bowl in the fridge for as long as possible (sometimes I only do 30 min but the longer the better)

  • While the dough is in the fridge, preheat the oven to 350 F

  • Roll into 1-inch balls and bake for 13-14 min

Enjoy!! I highly recommend storing some in the freezer as well, I LOVE frozen cookies!
